The Rosemount at Blairgowrie is considered one of the best inland layouts in Scotland and deserves all of the plaudits that it receives. When a course has had influence from James Braid and Alister MacKenzie in its design phases you know it is going to be something special.
Always presented in fantastic condition, the course has a heathland and moorland feel to it. It winds it’s way through mature trees so there is a beautiful framing to each hole you play. Many golfers have commented on the sense of relaxation and tranquillity as they go about their round.
While all holes are enjoyable, with lots of good birdie chances on the short to medium length par 4s, the closing stretch are perhaps most worthy of recognition. The short 15th is well protected, while the superb 16th requires two great shots to find the green in regulation. 17 is another stunning par 3 where finding the correct tier is the main challenge.
The day comes to an end with a tricky par 4 which doglegs from left to right. If you can find the left side of the fairway with your tee shot, you will be rewarded with the best view of the final green. The approach shot is played with the beautiful clubhouse acting as the perfect backdrop.
