Part of the modern Dubai Hills Estate, this is a serene and laid-back course with the impressive downtown Dubai skyline acting as the perfect backdrop. The 5th hole is played directly towards the spectacular Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, and the skyscraper can perhaps lay claim to be the most impressive marker post in golf.
Since it opened in 2018, Dubai Hills has made a significant impact on the Middle East golfing scene. It’s arrival was eagerly anticipated in the region, and it’s successful opening was underlined when it was awarded the coveted title of ‘World’s Best New Course’ at the prestigious World Golf Awards.
This incredibly well-designed layout, which is always presented in superb condition, features two distinct loops of nine. Both circuits are played in opposite ways, and this constant change of direction helps to keep the visiting golfer’s focus throughout the round.
Creatively shaped out of the desert, the course makes maximum use of the natural topography of the location with beautifully contoured fairways and challenging green complexes. As well as this, water comes into play on a number of holes towards the end of each nine, so players need to ensure their ball-striking is right on point if they want to score well.
